Mission
The mission of the Division is to
advance and disseminate knowledge of the economic, humanistic, and clinical
impact of pharmaceutical products and services and to contribute to
medication use and health policy development that benefits society.
Goals
Specific goals of the Division
that are intended to support the mission include:
1. To conduct research on the
economic impact, humanistic and clinical consequences of the therapeutic use
of drugs, of pharmacy and health care services, and of medication use
policy.
2. To publish and disseminate
research findings so as to advance knowledge and facilitate medication use
and health policy development that benefits the health of patients, society
and healthcare organizations.
3. To
provide professional, graduate, post-graduate education and training in
pharmaceutical evaluation and policy (i.e. social and administrative
pharmacy, pharmacoeconomics, health outcomes, health policy, pharmacy
management) that will promote future advances in this area of research and
understanding.
4. To
be a source of expertise and assistance to UAMS, the community, the
pharmaceutical industry, health care provider organizations, the profession,
and others on matters of research and knowledge in the field of
pharmaceutical evaluation and policy.
5.
To
facilitate collaborative partnerships between academia and provider
organizations, manufacturers, professional organizations, and others to
promote advances in this area of research.
